Groundbreaking news… just tail in hovered 4 packs back to back without incident!
Did a bit of Tarot ZYX-S2 tuning, started with the happy-dog-tailwag in the gusts or after a flick of rudder so it had to get hooked up to the computer between flights..now its stable as a rock!..even managed a second or two hands free (outside with slight wind!)
Managed to get the tail servo physically slightly better centered for rate mode.. possibly close enough for now (seems like it needs a fraction of a turn more for hands free.. so I may have do that with the zyx software rather than physically)…it’s rock solid and locked in for heading hold mode!
I did a quick check all round the copter after each pack to make sure nothing had loosened off and I didn’t have to tighten any screws ) locktite doing its job this time – mind you the tail seems rock solid now on spoolup so it looks like whatever was causing the vibes has gone for now
I did have to adjust the tail belt slightly after the second pack as it went a bit looser than I would like (its /not/ a hot day here and the belt was brand spanking new so maybe its stretched a tad or maybe they bed in??) – to be expected I guess
Finding it nowhere near as intimidating as it was and actually properly enjoyed it, managed a once round the garden “walking the dog” style need a bit more room and stick time before I dare point the tail away from me on this one
4 mins is giving me 3.78 ish volts – still on their first cycles so perhaps I’m being a little harsh on them?
…Looking at 450 kits now 😀
